TREVISO - A resident of Pieve di Soligo has been stabbed to death when going to the park by the Piave river, to sunbathe, according to investigators. Her body was discovered by a passer-by at the Isola Dei Morti park, in Moriago. 

  The killer turned himself in at the police station, in Valdobbiadene, with the weapon still in his hand, confessing to the killing of a 35-year-old woman. The man suspected was the same age as the victim but from the first assessments it seems that he did not have a relationship or even any link to her. The reasons for the killing, therefore, are still yet to be discovered. The carabinieri have ruled it unlikely that it was a theft ‘gone wrong’ given next to the woman was her bag, so it is more likely that the aggressor had a sudden burst of aggression.
