Italian Cinema Day to promote Italian talent internationally

  ROME - Saturday 19 June 2021 is the date chosen to celebrate the second edition of the World Day of Italian Cinema, to renew the commitment undertaken in 2020, with cinemas still locked by the pandemic, to give wings back to Italian cinema through its young talents, projecting them onto the international film scene

  On the occasion of the World Day of Italian Cinema, the five nominations of the David di Donatello Award for Best Short Film will be screened: Shero, directed by Claudio Casale; Gas Station, directed by Olga Torrico; The Family Gold (l'Oro Di Famiglia) directed by Emanuele Pisano; The Game (Il Gioco) directed by Alessandro Haber the winner, Anne, directed by Stefano Malchiodi and Domenico Croce.
 
  The goal of the World Day of Italian Cinema is to promote, disseminate and support Italian cinema abroad. The five David finalists will be guaranteed international distribution through the network of Italian consulates and cultural institutes around the world.
 
  "An innovative formula, designed precisely to restore vigour and momentum to Cinema, with a sort of 'state cinema distribution', designed to make the world go around with high-value film products," said the President of the Intergruppo Cinema e Arti dello Spettacolo, Nicola Acunzo, creator of the Fare Cinema initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Heritage.
 
  The day will be anticipated on Friday by a conference in the Press Room of the Chamber of Deputies, broadcast on the Facebook pages of the David di Donatello Awards and the World Day of Italian Cinema.
