Rome Savoyards announce highly topical new play

Teatro Le Salette

ROME - The Rome Savoyards, a non-profit theatrical organisation, have announced their upcoming show, 'Curtain Up!', by renowned writer Peter Quilter, to be performed as theatres reopen throughout Italy.

'Curtain Up!' is the hilarious, and highly topical, story of five women hoping to bring a dilapidated theatre back to life after inheriting shares in it.

The show, produced by the Rome Savoyards and Plays In Rome, will be performed in English at the Teatro Le Salette. There will be five shows, from June 5 - June 13, to celebrate the reopening of Italian theatres.

The Rome Savoyards are a group of singers, actors and crew, "from many different countries and walks of life," set up by director Sandra Provost in 1981. None of the cast or crew are paid, performing simply for "philanthropy, cultural integration and thespian passion." All proceeds go to the cost of production.
