First International “Francesco Terrone” Literary Competition

   MERCATO SAN SEVERINO -- The competition, made possible by the patronage of Sidelmed S.p.A. and in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society of Salerno and the Italo-Arabic Assadakah Onlus Association, is of a literary and artistic purpose that has at its core creativity, passion and the desire to engage with the great adventure that is poetic and narrative writing.

 The competition is free, and open to all secondary school students; they can participate with a poem or a story. The theme of the first edition is centred on the coronavirus pandemic, given the great impact it has caused on a social, economic and existential level.

 Rules

 One can participate in one or both of the sections:

 Section A: poetry

 Section B: story

 

  1. The works must be sent to Sidelmed Spa, Vico Demanio Piazza, 1-Fraz. Piazza del Galdo, Mercato San -Severino (SA)or info@fondazionefrancescoterrone.itby 30 June 2021, with a declaration including their personal details, telephone number and email address attached.
  2. The works will be assessed by a special jury, led by Professor Salvatore Italia of the Dante Alighieri Society of Rome, whose judgement will be final, and who will assign the first three prizes in the two sections, the first receiving a statue. All participants will be sent a parchment with the poem ‘Non toccate i bambini’ (Don’t touch the children) from Francesco Terrone’s collection ‘L’Urlo dell’innocenza’ (The cry of innocence). Also to be awarded are the Critic’s Prize, the President’s Prize, the Prize for Journalism, the MESPI Prize and the Sidelmed Spa Prize.
  3. During the awards ceremony at the Foreign Press Association at Via dellUmiltà, 83c,Roma, the date of which will be communicated at least 15 days before the event, the prizes and parchments will be awarded.
