ROME – Italy has joined countries across the European Union, Canada and the United States, by expelling two Russian diplomats from its shores in solidarity with the United Kingdom, despite clear signs that centre-right leaders, Matteo Salvini and Giorgia Meloni, will seek a closer relationship with Vladimir Putin.

The action follows the case of the former Russian spy, Sergei Skripal, who was poisoned along with his daughter in the sleepy cathedral town of Salisbury by a nerve agent.

The Service touches upon how peaceful prayer is often taken for granted, highlighting the persecution, discrimination, deprivation of religious freedom across the globe, whilst focussing around the words of Pope Francis: “Today, in the 21st century, our Church is a Church of martyrs”.

ROME - Life is a Fairy Tale is a beautifully poignant and refreshing piece of theatre, written and performed by Glyka Stoiou. It revolves around a woman, who, awaiting her final judgement, tells of her struggles to find a soulmate and her premature death.

This comedic one-woman show explores the long-standing issues of gender inequality that women have faced and continue to face in society. By highlighting these issues, the show becomes one of empowerment, and questions the extent to which we are perpetuating these ideas in our own lives with our attitudes and actions.

NAPLES – “The next leader can be none other than someone indicated by the Centre-right coalition,” warns Matteo Salvini on social media not even twenty-four hours after parliament elected the presidencies of the House of Deputies and Senate.

ROME – In my professional practice, I often receive requests on whether on not an individual working for UN organisations  should declare and pay taxes in Italy. The nature of the enquiry is due to general confusion of their actual tax status here in Italy and the conflicting information they are given compared to information they find on the Internet.
