British Ambassador Jill Morris opened the conference, revealing that less than 19 percent of employees in the British gaming industry are female. An insightful discussion ensued, which saw industry professionals and university professors alike question the under-representation of women in the world’s largest entertainment industry.

MILAN – A lone ISIS operative was arrested early on Tuesday morning in an anti-terrorism operation in Milan, police sources report.

 Milan police detained a 22-year-old Egyptian man on suspicion of his involvement with international terrorism as an ISIS lone-wolf. The suspect, who has not been named by police, was allegedly involved with the publication and dissemination of ISIS propaganda.

 Investigations from Italian police authorities led to a raid in Milan, as well as the search of properties in Lombardy, Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont.

ROME – Rome authorities began the demolition of eight villas illegally built by the Casamonica clan early on Tuesday morning, police sources report.

 Mayor of the Eternal City Virginia Raggi also announced the start of the project on her Facebook page, adding, “this is an historic day for the city of Rome and its citizens. It brings to an end 30 years of disrespect for the law and represents a strong signal against crime and the Casamonica clan.” The demolitions, the mayor promised, would be finished by New Year.

The Prague Spring was not aborted, it was stifled.

SALERNO – The movement of a huge waterspout from the sea to the south-western city of Salerno was captured on video on Tuesday afternoon, eyewitness sources report.

 According to eyewitnesses, the column of air and water lifted containers out of the port. As of yet, no injuries or property damage have been reported.

 Footage of the waterspout has been shared across social media, including by major Italian Radio station, Rai 1.

Dynamic sound bites bounced back and forth, encouraging women not to be disheartened by statistics underlining male domination in the industry.

ROME – The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has released a report which assesses the success of initiatives set out for migrants and refugees in Italy, diplomatic sources say.

 The report acknowledges Italy’s attempt to tackle segregation in schools between first- and second-generation immigrants and native Italians, though natives do continue to enjoy and advantage, especially in tertiary education.
