CUNEO – A Land Rover with nine people on board careered off a road in Cuneo on Tuesday, five of the passengers, all under the age of 25, have died, police say.
The catastrophe took place a little after midnight, in the region of Piedmont, as the group were driving back from Alpe Chastlar, a panoramic viewing spot, where they had spent the evening looking at the stars.
ROME – Ten months away from the voting process, Roman Mayor Virginia Raggi, member of Five Star Movement, officially announced her candidacy for re-election.
Raggi, 42, was the first ever woman elected to the role in a landslide victory in 2016. She has had an unsteady tenure as mayor, struggling with issues around rubbish management and various political scandals.

ROME – American billionaire Dan Friedkin has finalised his long-touted deal to buy AS Roma, one of the biggest football teams in Italy.
In a deal sealed at two in the morning on Thursday, the Texan Friedkin bought the club for 591 million euros, of which 500 million will be handed to the former owner, James Palletta and his associates according to Il Gazzetto dello Sport. The remaining funds will reportedly be spent on the management of the club.
