  VATICAN CITY - Speaking on Raitre’s ‘Report’, the Holy See’s former Auditor General, Libero Milone, said “for over 20 years, up to 2016, the Vatican invested in an industry that produces the morning after pill,” reports Il Fatto Quotidiano.

  He continued, “through APSA, the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See, the Secretary of State possessed shares to the value of 20 million euros in two pharmaceutical companies” producing the pill, opposing the Vatican’s social policies, despite the drug’s status as a contraceptive drug, rather than abortive.

  PARIS - Seven former members of the left-wing terrorists organisations of Italy’s ‘Years of Lead’ have been arrested in France, with French police still searching for three others.

  The Years of Lead lasted from roughly 1968-1988 and was a period of social and political chaos in Italy, marked by a series of terrorist acts by both far-right and far-left groups.

  It was announced on Wednesday morning by French government sources that the seven had been arrested, as part of a joint operation between Italian police and French antiterrorist forces.

  TIRANA - Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has secured a third term in power for him and his Socialist Party after winning 49 percent of the vote - and 74 of 140 parliamentary seats - in Tuesday's election. His main opposition, the centre-right Democratic Party led by Lulzim Basha, won 39 percent of the votes and 59 seats.

  ABU DHABI - Italians diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates are at an all time low, with several defence contracts being directed to other countries and former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte placing an embargo on weapons exports, so Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio’s three day trip to the UAE was an important one. 

  He arrived on Sunday in time for a long lunch with his Emirati counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed, and though it may be a while before any direct consequences are felt, the meetings seemed cordial.
